It’s Fairtrade Fortnight soon!

What do you or your business have planned for Fairtrade Fortnight from 28 February – 13 March 2011?

Not sure? Well fear not as the Fairtrade Foundation team have got oodles of great ideas on their website here. Whether you are an individual or a business they have a variety of tools and ideas to get you started. The aim this year is for the nation to show off about buying Fairtrade which offers 7.5 million people in the developing world a more secure future. Extraverts will no doubt had no problem! Yet if you’re stuck for inspiration look here.

The Fairtrade Team recommend these
5 Easy ways to get involved:

  1. Tell everyone about your event on our calendar
  2. Get schools and faith groups in your area ready to show off this Fortnight
  3. Order some eye-catching materials for your event from our e-shop
  4. Show off your label in your community
  5. Order your bunting and help our record-breaking attempt

Beyond Bamboo’s 5 tips are:

1.  Post a link about Fairtrade Fortnight on your Facebook update – shout about it and get your friends and family involved

2. Challenge your friends to buy a basket of Fairtrade products during Fairtrade week and get them hooked on the great taste and feel good factor

3.  Upload a Twibbon to your Twitter picture to show your support, just click here

4. Send a topical tweet a day about Fairtrade Fornight or products to raise awareness amongst your followers

5. Write a blog post about a Fairtrade product you love and why to encourage others to convert

Or for the technically minded include a Fairtrade banner or button to your Facebook business page or website.
